Pratt

Pratt Institute sends representatives from their admissions office to different cities around the country to meet with prospective students. I met with the representatives on Friday in Cincinnati. It was really informative and helpful. It got me excited about the prospect of grad school in New York. I still would like to go visit the campus in person.

  1. I just came across your blog, which has some really lovely things on it, like the paper. But I spotted "Pratt" right away. I got an MFA at Pratt in '81. One of my undergrad professors, Jacob Lawrence, had taught there at one point, and encouraged me to go there. His words, which I thought I'd pass along to you, were that most of your education is going to come from seeing art, and NY has the most. He added that most of the art in NY is not good, but the art that IS good is some of the best in the world. He was right, and I loved going there. I ended up staying in Brooklyn for 14 years and having my own preschool for the last 7. A fantastic experience. Go for it!!

  2. Thanks for sharing, I've always been pretty excited about the idea of moving away for school. Especially to a large city, such as New York. A city that is filled with art. I enjoy submerging myself into different cultures.
